BLOOD TEST
For blood tests that include glucose and cholesterol, a light dinner is recommended 12 hours before blood collection.
During those hours you are allowed water and herbal teas without sugar.
In the morning no food or drink, however some water is allowed.
Smoking and exercise is not recommended prior to your blood test!!

URINE TEST
For urine sample collection, collect midstream morning specimen in sterile container you can obtain from pharmacy.
Samples must be stored in cool temperature without direct sunlight.
Samples must be brought to the lab within an hour aftercollection.

THYROID FUNCTION TEST
Patients on thyroxine should not take it prior to the blood test. It can be taken later.
HORMONAL TESTING
For hormonal testing in women , blood should be taken between the 3rd and 5th day of their cycle.
Special tests
Fasting for 12 hours required. Water allowed.
